About Tokio Objects

Tokio Objects is a small index of things that work at 4:17 in the morning: a field radio that finds the station on the first turn, a lamp that lights one desk and nothing else, a case that takes the rain, a notebook that takes the idea.

We buy from makers who still publish a parts list. Every object is tested on the late train, the tiny desk and the long walk home before it gets a number in the index.

The store runs on Zero, a light storefront for Magento Open Source: no heavy framework in the browser, pages that arrive complete, and a checkout that is one form.
